A look at new horizons
clockin was not only designed for practical use, it was also developed to be used in many different ways. With the idea of building a solution for project work in the skilled trades, nobody had assumed that this would also touch a problem in many other industries. But at the latest since the first company from the healthcare sector signed up just a few days after the app launched, we have known that clockin has to be thought of on a bigger scale.
That was some years ago now. And people like Aric Brämswig prove to us again and again that this rethink was the right decision.
Aric is CEO at REHAB FIVE. With two locations in Münster, he now has a considerable team across his physiotherapy practices. He has specialised his practices in modern, science-based physiotherapy, and in our interview he tells us that his colleagues spend most of their time on the open training floor. The aim is to work out movement programmes together with customers in order to change their health over the long term. That includes professional athletes.

Physiotherapy demands versatility
“We are active in a lot of different fields and try to be versatile there”, Aric says. An important part of that is BGM and BGF, that is corporate health management and workplace health promotion. There they work with a range of industries and try to change the company culture of those businesses over the long term and sustainably. The idea is that companies learn to set themselves up more healthily for good. The programme runs from exercise sessions in schools through to nutrition workshops.
In the past, REHAB FIVE worked with a simple system for working time tracking: “The difficulty we had was that we hadn't really found a system that gives us a quick daily overview, where we could create structures and, above all, that offers a fast project overview as simply, securely and user-friendly as possible.”
In physiotherapy too, time = money, and that is why Aric did not want to put any more energy into further “gimmicks” that do not make his day-to-day work easier. When he discovers clockin, it does not take long to convince him.

More than just time tracking
Since then they have been using the app in very varied ways: “The employee is standing in front of the locked door. He starts his working day, the first thing he does is log into the clockin app, and then he has a project – that is either the location or a company.” The big advantage for him: clockin is mobile. His employees can therefore record their data from anywhere – whether that is break times, travel times or project hours.
clockin has made Aric's day-to-day work considerably easier. He has a live project overview in his dashboard and can make sure with just a few clicks that everything is running correctly. “That is the entrepreneur's dream”, he says. “Everything in one app, simply explained and individually configurable.”

A benefit for the boss, the team and the customer
At REHAB FIVE, vacation requests used to be handled on paper or submitted via WhatsApp – which is not only awkward and time-consuming but also not compliant with data protection rules. All of that now runs digitally through clockin.
Aric now saves a good deal of time on data analysis too: what used to be recorded by hand in a separate database now runs live and automatically. “That has cut our time spent considerably, by days, maybe even weeks.”
clockin offers new benefits for customers as well: with the documentation function, movement routines can be recorded, notes made accessible and overviews evaluated faster. Via the read link, this information can be forwarded straight to the customer or the medical examiner.

He saves more than just his nerves
Without clockin, Lüken would have to work through slips of paper every day. He would have to write down every recorded hour by hand in Excel or something similar. All of that falls away. The people at work already take that work off his hands by clocking into their break with one click.
At the end of the month he runs payroll and receives a finished timesheet from clockin for every employee. With the DATEV integration the data goes on to the tax firm. “It is all completely transparent and simply laid out. It is just fun now.”
“I would advise anyone who is going self-employed to put this in place early, even if they are starting on their own”, Lüken tells us. clockin makes it very easy for him to add new employees as the company grows. And many small mistakes he used to make can now be eliminated.
“It is really important to use something like this early, and it really is not expensive. It is fun and it brings you nothing but benefits. I can only recommend it.”

The versatility of clockin makes it easier for Aric and his team to improve their day-to-day work. “For us, clockin is another step towards setting ourselves up more modern than the competition.” And not only that – in the medical field in particular, clockin helps him stay compliant with data protection rules.
“In physiotherapy we have to keep moving forward and learn to work with companies like clockin, so that we can make the physiotherapist's day even easier”, says Aric.
