Working time tracking has been mandatory in Germany since 13 September 2022. A corresponding law is currently being drafted by the government.
The start, the duration and any breaks you have taken all have to be recorded. At the moment there is still no law on whether that record may be kept electronically or on paper. The European Court of Justice ruling, however, calls for electronic time tracking.
